White-Crowned Sparrow, Missouri I looked out the window to see birds(mostly sparrows) leaping from bush to bush and flying from tree to tree. Excitedly I leaped out the front door, camera in hand, ready to snap some birds. I crept around the yard peeking through branches to snatch the perfect shot. The white-crowned sparrow is a species of passerine bird native to North America. A medium-sized member of the New World sparrow family, this species is marked by a grey face and black and white streaking on the upper head.
