Lucknow_Zoo_(1) It has been a series of special days for lioness Vasundhara ever since her cubs were born in Lucknow's Nawab Wajid Ali Shah zoological gardens. Each different is different than the former one, as the playful young cubs find new ways of engaging their mother in their daily play. Recently when the zoo authorities built a wooden scaffold in the lioness' enclosure, the tricks and tactics of the cubs caught everyone's eye. As they climbed up and rolled down, the lioness had a hard time bringing the cubs back to safety. As the mother cajole and caresses her young ones, the speechless eyes give way to words and finally Vasundhara climbs up. One by one, the mischievous brigade descends on earth and the mother's heart finds some rest. photo by Azam Husain from Lucknow Uttar Pradesh India. The lion is one of the five big cats in the genus "Panthera" and a member of the family Felidae. The commonly used term African lion collectively denotes the several subspecies found in Africa. With some males exceeding 250 kg in weight, it is the second-largest living cat after the tiger.
