  1. I have created the species record. @fl Design, go ahead and finalize the ID. Although I am a bit confused: Wiki and other sources put the species in Tettigoniidae, while ITIS Catalogue of Life classifies it in the family Phaneropteridae.

In the same time Wiki says Phaneropteridae is a synonym of Phaneropterinae, a subfamily of Tettigoniidae!
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phaneropterinae

To make the situation further worse Orthoptera Species File arrange Phaneropteridae as a Subfamily Group!

    1. doh - we were doing it at the same time... I found info that there are many synonyms and that Onomarchus uninotatus is the preferred name. Posted 9 years ago
      1. It seems to be separate species, not a synonym! Very confusing! I think @fl Design has checked it already.

        1. Confusing indeed... some of these more obscure things generate debate among entymologists. EOL has 17 synonyms listed
http://eol.org/pages/858024/names/synonyms , but I get the feeling there's not complete agreement on whether or not they really are all the same.

          1. Interesting, they refer to Species 2000 & ITIS Catalogue of Life: April 2013. But just there the synonyms of Onomarchus uninotatus are only 5, and Pseudophyllus titan is not among them. I think it is better to leave as Pseudophyllus titan. It has one synonym: Cleandrus rex. Posted 9 years ago
        2. I added this beautiful creature to my list: Mimicry - a way to survive. Posted 9 years ago, modified 9 years ago
