Ice flowers We had a cold snap that made the mushrooms turn to little piles of black goo - but I did find some lovely ice flower. The phenomenon is technically "hoar frost" - the coating or deposit of ice that may form in humid air in cold conditions. We'd had freezing fog on this morning and the night before.
