      1. I have wanted to put captions to my photos on several occasions, but I then remember seeing photos on here with captions where I went "Huh?!?!" and then changed my mind. You are exactly right in that with an international community such as this, it is difficult to place a caption that would be understood by everyone. Rather, it would be understood by a few and confuse many more. Posted 9 years ago

The vervet monkey, or simply vervet, is an Old World monkey of the family Cercopithecidae native to Africa. The term "vervet" is also used to refer to all the members of the genus "Chlorocebus". The five distinct subspecies can be found mostly throughout Southern Africa, as well as some of the eastern countries.
