A Blue-eyed Anole (Anolis woodi) showing off in Monteverde Reserve Surprisingly, this single anole was the only lizard I saw in a guided group hike in Monteverde Reserve. It was perched in a clearing and displaying its dewlap. Unfortunately its blue eyes are not visible in the picture due to the angle of the light. 2. beautiful shot, great contrast to the background. What a poser he is!
Don't go on group hikes. Next time, try my garden :) you are welcome, we have a lizard in the workshop, many in the garden and even in the house.

    1. Thanks Annette! I am in general against group hikes, but we were traveling to Costa Rica with my mom on this occasion and we took an organized tour for convenience. It was a good company, focused on nature, but of course that still leaves you with the group hikes. Posted 9 years ago

A long-legged and very slender arboreal anole with bright blue eyes and a long tapering tail. Anolis woodi lives throughout the central highlands of Costa Rica and eastern Panama.
