Terrace of mushrooms closeup
Closeup of mushrooms in the Heeswijk forest during autumn. The thing with photographing mushrooms is to get down to their level, which means laying down. Another aspect is to stage the scene, clearing any distracting leafs and twigs, which I failed to do in this case. I prefer the all-natural approach.

''Hypholoma fasciculare'', commonly known as the sulphur tuft, sulfur tuft or clustered woodlover, is a common woodland mushroom, often in evidence when hardly any other mushrooms are to be found. This saprophagic small gill fungus grows prolifically in large clumps on stumps, dead roots or rotting trunks of broadleaved trees.
