  1. I'm a bit in doubt on what to do here. This is definitely a so-called "firetip", but I'm unsure if the exact species is correct. In particular I'm trying to find a reference photos that is all-blue like you show here. For the species you mention, I can't find it yet. I did find this:

  2. You are right I made an error, I took somebodies word for it. I should have checked.
    it should be Astraptes fulgerator azul or
    Astraptes tucuti with a bit of tail missing.

The Two-barred Flasher is a cryptic species complex in the spread-wing skipper butterfly genus ''Astraptes''. It ranges all over the Americas, from the southern USA to northern Argentina.
