  1. I'm a bit in doubt on what to do here. This is definitely a so-called "firetip", but I'm unsure if the exact species is correct. In particular I'm trying to find a reference photos that is all-blue like you show here. For the species you mention, I can't find it yet. I did find this:

    What do you think?

    1. thanks a lot I have found my error last night but had no internet to correct it (happens here all the time) and guess what we found the same thing. Posted 4 years ago
      1. No worries, and thanks for confirming :) Posted 4 years ago
        1. thanks a lot for the nice compliments. I can only say I am so glad I found you. This appeals much more to me than flickr groups who 'identify' species by saying 'I saw this in the bug group'. Posted 4 years ago
          1. Thank you so much. Just know that I don't have a biological background, yet if we all put our heads together, we usually can get to pretty reliable species identifications. Posted 4 years ago
  2. You are right I made an error, I took somebodies word for it. I should have checked.
it should be Astraptes fulgerator azul or
Astraptes tucuti with a bit of tail missing.
