A Harlequin Toad (Atelopus spumarius) surveys its kingdom
Many populations of toads in the genus Atelopus have been devastated by the chytrid fungus in Central and South America. Fortunately for me, our guide on this trip to Amazonian Peru knew where to look for a small population of these beautiful animals.

The Pebas stubfoot toad is a species of toad in the Bufonidae family.
It is native to Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru and Suriname.
