Coltricia perennis This very dense fungi was found on my property in Oregon. Not 100% sold on the species but it is the closest I could find. Nevertheless, it is a awesome variety with tree ring type growth banding and coloring that is very unique. It is about the 22 cm across the cap. 1. Looks like a pretty good guess to me - Coltricia cinnamomea, I think is a bit more smooth Posted 9 years ago
    1. I thought so but its nice to get a second! Thanks Posted 9 years ago
  2. I don't think Coltricia get this big? C. perennis don't usually exceed 8cm, and C. cinnamomea doesn't usually exceed 5. The leathery texture makes me think this looks more like Ganoderma sp. Posted 3 years ago, modified 3 years ago

The funnel-form caps of Coltricia perennis typically have well-defined bands of colors, these ranging from cinnamon-brown, yellow-brown to grey. Important identifying features are a tomentose cap surface and a usually decurrent tube layer.
