  1. This looks like the one as pictured here:
    http://pixdaus.com/single.php?id=267335
    It says that it is a Black and White Hawk Eagle, but other pictures of that specie on internet look different, so I am not sure if the description is right.
    I haven't been able to find another matching picture jet, even though there aren't many bird of prey in the pantanal.

    1. Thanks as always, I think this is a positive match. Particularly the dark stripe from its eye to the back of the head seems similar. Note though that this was captured in the Amazon, not in the Pantanal. Posted 13 years ago

The yellow-headed caracara is a bird of prey in the family Falconidae, the falcons and caracaras. It is found in Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, every mainland South American country except Chile, and on Aruba, Bonaire, CuraƧao, and Trinidad and Tobago....hieroglyph snipped...
