  1. This doesn't look like the Oiketicus abbotii design. It also has a more northern distribution.

      I based the id off the appearance of the larva (same cocoon/individual)
      Bagworm  Geotagged,Oiketicus kirbyi,Summer,Trinidad and Tobago,brown,case,spots,sticks

      If you still believe it's incorrect I'll remove the species id from both until a better one is found.

        1. Looks like a better match given the distribution so I will change it. I am trying to find some more information about the host plant. Locally it is called Caripoolay (unsure about spelling) but there are no records on the web matching that name. Posted 8 years ago

''Oiketicus kirbyi'' is a moth of the Psychidae family. It is found in lowlands from Argentina to Mexico and on the Caribbean islands.

There is strong sexual dimorphism in the adults. Females are wingless.

The larvae feed on various plants, including ''Musa'', ''Theobroma cacao'', ''Elaeis guineensis'', ''Bactris gasipaes'', ''Cocos nucifera'', ''Citrus'', ''Tectona grandis'', ''Eucalyptus'', ''Eryobothria japonica'' and ''Terminalia catappa''. It was a serious pest in commercial.. more
