Kingfisher fishing at Sonsbeek
After quite a long search I found this kingfisher (Alcedo atthis) at Sonsbeek Parc, Arnhem. I will return there with better light than the pretty dark, cloudy skies today.
It stayed quite long at the same spot before taking of, but not long enough to get the monopod attached. Better luck next time.

The Common Kingfisher is a small kingfisher with seven subspecies recognized within its wide distribution across Eurasia and North Africa. It is resident in much of its range, but migrates from areas where rivers freeze in winter.
