    1. Prime larch season right now. It was so gorgeous up there today that you could just about close your eyes, point your camera and as long as you kept it level you'd get a great shot :p - I've a ton more on my flickr account https://flic.kr/ps/MMu5N Posted 9 years ago

    1. The air tends to be pretty clear here in the fall - and I use a polarizing filter which helps a great deal to cut down on any haze we do have. Posted 9 years ago

''Larix lyallii'', the subalpine larch, or simply alpine larch, is a deciduous, coniferous tree native to northwestern North America. It lives at very high altitudes—1,800 to 2,400 m —in the Rocky Mountains of Idaho, Montana, British Columbia, and Alberta. There is a disjunct population in the Cascade Range of Washington.
