    1. I'm amazed that I found so many different and identifiable mycena in one day... The bright and colorful ones people pay attention to and write about. To tell the truth though, I didn't even know all of the yellow/orange were all different species until I got home and looked closely. Posted 9 years ago, modified 9 years ago

This tiny Mycena can be distinguished from the numerous other small litter decomposers that inhabit local woodlands by a bright yellow cap and similarly colored, extremely thin, fragile, pruinose stipe. It is most likely to be confused with a close cousin, Mycena acicula, a species with a orange to orange-red cap.
