This moth landed in my garden and sat on the ground long enough for me to grab my camera and get this photo before he flew away. I am hoping to see him again so that I can get a better shot of him, maybe with outspread wings.

The Tricose Dart is a moth of the Noctuidae family. It is found in central North America, north to Quebec, Ontario and Manitoba. The wingspan is about 35 mm. Adults are on wing from July to September in the north. The larvae probably feed on a wide variety of plants.
