  2. I'm wondering if this might actually be Clavariadelphus occidentalis? It doesn't quite have the flat-topped look of Clavariadelphus truncatus. Posted 4 years ago
    1. Agreed that this is likely something else. All stages of growth I have seen of C. truncatus are quite truncate/flat-topped. Posted 4 years ago
    2. While we have both here, C. truncatus much more common.
      Really I'd stick with that too - look at these images to see what they look like in groups that have some newly emerged and some more mature individuals and you'll see why I think that.
