Before I create the species, I'd like to know how you arrived at this species name? Not saying it is wrong, but I'm curious, mostly because of these photos:

  The yellow band in the wings as it flew reminded me of your suggestion for this guy:
  
  And photo #2 from the page you referenced looks nearly identical to my photo...

  However, #2 is a Carolina grasshopper, which also has yellow in the wings, but at the edges instead of near the body... which fits more closely to what I observed. Posted 9 years ago
