    1. No, it's the old faithful, just wouldn't normally use it for little things like this unless on a tripod, this was hand held and to be honest, without much care as I didn't expect it to come out! Very lucky shot. Posted 10 years ago
      1. Yes, I've recently experienced the same thing. With the macro lens on most of the time, one easily forgets that a normal zoom lens can do wonders. Exactly like in this example, where you may not want maximum magnification, yet do want a closeup. Added benefit is the large DOF of such a zoom lens. Posted 10 years ago

''Belenois gidica'', the African Veined White or Pointed Caper, is a butterfly in the family Pieridae. It is found in the Afrotropic ecozone.

The wingspan is 40–55 millimetres in males and 40–53 mm in females. Flight period is year-round.

The larvae feed on ''Boscia'', ''Capparis'', and ''Maerua'' species.
