  1. Nice capture Claire - Does look very similar to the one in the Wiki which incidentally I took and WildFlower very kindly identified for me.

  2. Palpita vitrealis and P. unionalis are synonyms, but I think the spots here are different. It has only 1 dark spot along the edge of the wings instead of 4 and there is one more spot in the middle. Usually that means a different species but I cannot find a good match. Posted 10 years ago

"Palpita vitrealis", the jasmine moth, is a species of moth of the family Crambidae. It occurs worldwide, including Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe and America. In Europe, it is found in southern Europe, but may be found further north due to its migratory nature.
