I am not sure if it is a P. muralis or P. sicula. Both seem to have a more spotted rater than striped pattern and I don't know what is the difference.

According to the Reptiles and Amphibians of Europe field guide by Arnold and Ovenden, P. muralis typically has black spotting under the chin and body, whereas P. sicula typically has solid light color underneath. I can see black spotting under the chin in this photo. Also, its pattern looks nearly identical to the pattern of the individual in Arnold and Ovenden labeled "Male: Rome area". The ones in this area are classified as subspecies P. m. nigriventris. Posted 9 years ago

The common wall lizard is a species of lizard with a large distribution in Europe and well-established introduced populations in North America, where it is also called the European wall lizard. It can grow to about 20 cm in total length.
