On the Wonderland Trail This is approaching Panhandle Gap, the highest point on the Wonderland Trail at Mount Rainier. (Other trails climb higher - and then of course some people do summit the mountain - it&#039;s often used as training for Mt. Everest!). In many years this might still have snowfields to cross, even at this point in summer, but this year has been uncommonly warm and there were no snow fields at all, even at the gap.<br />
