European Praying Mantids This fella was hanging out in the morning hours in shadow. Unfortunately I had to use off camera flash (not my preference) but still was able to get a good shot. I also only had my 70-200 ii which isn't as sharp at close range as I would have liked. Should be good to pixel peep if you enjoy that kind of thing.     1. I wasn't sure even after your suggestion until I went back to look at several other images to see if I could determine if it in fact had a "black-ringed spot beneath the fore coxae" as its true identifying marking and did find one that clearly shows it. Good catch! Posted 10 years ago
