  1. Insects are usually difficult.. Bug Guide is the best resource I've come across for North America. If you can't find a good ID, which can be a challenge, they've got folks there who are experts and are often hugely helpful. http://bugguide.net/node/view/15740 Posted 10 years ago

  3. Here's an identification guide to a couple of wasp species found in the UK. I assume this is where the photo was taken. Most of these characters cannot be seen on your photo though.
