Camponotus Aethiops Princes & Princesses
Taken in Arillas, Corfu - Camponotus Aethiops getting ready for the mating flights. As you can see - the difference in size between the males (smaller) and the females is noticeable. Once the male has reproduced - his life will end shortly afterwards and the newly impregnated "Queen" will go about finding herself a nest in which to raise her brood - making a colony of her own.
