Cinnamon, Black Bear This cinnamon black bear was turning over trees next to the road by the Artist Point turn in YNP. He came within 5 feet of visitors as they were trying to get pictures of him. This cinnamon black bear was turning over trees next to the road by the Artist Point turn in YNP. He came within 5 feet of visitors as they were trying to get pictures of him. Thankfully, nobody was threatened by the bear, and luckily, a ranger.

The American black bear is a medium-sized bear native to North America. It is the continent's smallest and most common bear species. Black bears are omnivores with their diets varying greatly depending on season and location. They typically live in largely forested areas, but do leave forests in search of food.
