  2. lol - I was so focused on ID'ing the butterfly that I hadn't even noticed the spider. That meadow was absolutely crawling. Tons of butterflies - I think I saw at least 5 species, there were probably a dozen, lots of those longhorn beetles, bees by the thousands, spider webs all around and flies - ugh, flies that were buzzing around my head, getting in my hair, biting the back of my legs... I didn't stop far as long as I would have liked. Posted 10 years ago

The Arctic Fritillary or Purplish Fritillary is a butterfly of the Nymphalidae family. It is found in the northern part of the Palearctic ecozone and the Nearctic ecozone.
