Green Vine Snake in Sinharaja, Sri Lanka Also known as the "eye plucker" in Sri Lanka, based on the false myth that it picks human eyes with its pointy snout. We found this snake in some bushes along the path. However, the forest floor is quite dark for photography and I had trouble focusing, so I jokingly asked the ranger to position it better. To my complete surprise, he went ahead to pick up the snake with his bare hands and placed it half a meter away from me.
