  1. They are lovely. At my parents house they nest in a similar place every single year for as long as I remember. It still blows my mind that coming all the way from Africa they specifically pick that place, every single year. Posted 10 years ago

The western house martin is a migratory passerine bird of the swallow family which breeds in Europe, north Africa and across the Palearctic; and winters in sub-Saharan Africa and tropical Asia. It feeds on insects which are caught in flight, and it migrates to climates where flying insects are plentiful.
