Rose_Ringed_Parakeet-Dutch_version-mayhem_at_the_dinner_table
This was taken in my back garden in Amstelveen in the Netherlands in april 2015. I see these birds (parakeets and jackdaws) most days (especially in the months after young ones have been born) so it is just a case of getting the timing right. I often hear a war of noise between the youngsters from both types as they battle for the food.
The rose-ringed parakeet is a medium-sized parrot in the genus Psittacula, of the family Psittacidae. It has disjunct native ranges in Africa and the Indian Subcontinent, and is now introduced into many other parts of the world where feral populations have established themselves and are bred for the exotic pet trade.
