Kingfisher (male) This is the second time i have spotted the same Kingfisher in the same spot! The first time, the light was really poor and as he was on the other side of a fairly wide river, i didn't get any decent captures. Also got to watch him fish for a while. Such beautiful birds and it is shame that here in the UK, they are under threat from Minks that raid their nests for their eggs and or chicks :( Alcedo atthis,Blue-breasted Kingfisher,Common Kingfisher,Geotagged,Halcyon malimbica,Spring,United Kingdom Click/tap to enlarge

The Common Kingfisher is a small kingfisher with seven subspecies recognized within its wide distribution across Eurasia and North Africa. It is resident in much of its range, but migrates from areas where rivers freeze in winter.
