Crazy toad! - Pedostibes tuberculosus
A malabar tree toad (Pedostibes tuberculosus) hanging from a twig next to a stream in a remote place in southern Karnataka. My first encounter with this endangered and endemic toad species from Western Ghats. I got to see more than 10 individuals within 100 meter radius. All were males. Calling out loud to attract the females. Females were nowhere to be seen. I feel this pre monsoon showers were not just enough to bring out the females not just in this species but other species of frogs that i came across. And the monsoon magic has started!! More to come :)

The Malabar tree toad or warty Asian tree toad is a species of toad found in forests along the Western Ghats of India south of Goa. It is small and is found in wet tree hollows or leaf bases containing water.
