Crazy toad! - Pedostibes tuberculosus A malabar tree toad (Pedostibes tuberculosus) hanging from a twig next to a stream in a remote place in southern Karnataka. My first encounter with this endangered and endemic toad species from Western Ghats. I got to see more than 10 individuals within 100 meter radius. All were males. Calling out loud to attract the females. Females were nowhere to be seen. I feel this pre monsoon showers were not just enough to bring out the females not just in this species but other species of frogs that i came across. And the monsoon magic has started!! More to come :) Malabar tree toad,Pedostibes tuberculosus, amphibian, bufonidae, endangered, endemic, india, karnataka, malabar, pedostibes, toad, tree, tuberculosus, western ghats Click/tap to enlarge PromotedSpecies introCountry intro
