Two Giant Millipedes seen in Sungbo Eredo, Nigeria The multi coloured millipede is likely African banded amber millipedes (Pachybolus ligulatus)
The single colour one I think could be Ophistreptus guineensis.

I noticed a lot of these when we were walking through Sungbo Eredo - fortifications built between 800-1000 AD, these ruins are amazing. Not often visited even though only 1 hours drive from Lagos, they are difficult to find as they are quite overgrown.
In amongst all the fallen leaves there were many millipedes and I couldn't resist taking a picture of two different types. Pachybolus ligulatus is a millipede from Pachybolidae family. Like all diplopoda it is characterised by having two pairs of jointed legs on most body segments.
