Adult Glow Worm/Firefly So, since I moved here I always thought that there weren&#039;t any fireflies on the West Coast, but no indeed there are. These guys are different from the ones I&#039;m accustomed to - they adults do not flash like the ones I grew up with, but the larvae often do have glowing bands - thus the designation of Glow Worm. I&#039;m working on species, but it may be a bit difficult.<br />
