Wild Orangutan This is a wild orangutan from the Danum Valley in the heart of Sabah, in Malaysian Borneo. In just the past few decades, orangutans have lost most of their habitat throughout Southeast Asia due to conversion to oil palm plantation. Seeing this big male, complete with his well-developed cheek pads, was a rare treat.
