Nesting chicks This image was from over 100m away so resolution is very low. I was fortunate that the parent osprey were so protective of their young that even at this distance their calls forced the chicks heads to pop up to see what the commotion was all about.       1. Here's a giant nest, this time by a very small bird :)

        Hamerkop nest Hard to believe, but this enormous nest belongs to a small bird, the Hamerkop. It is quite compulsive in building these huge nests, building 3-5 per year. Each nest can contain up to 10,000 sticks. Africa,Hamerkop,Scopus umbretta,Tanzania,Tarangire,Tarangire National Park

The osprey, also called sea hawk, river hawk, and fish hawk, is a diurnal, fish-eating bird of prey with a cosmopolitan range. It is a large raptor reaching more than 60 cm in length and 180 cm across the wings. It is brown on the upperparts and predominantly greyish on the head and underparts.
