  1. This photo is actually a little scary... Great detail with the eyes and feathers! I like how you can see the pupils still and that gives the effect that it's looking at you, even with the nictitating membrane. Posted 10 years ago

The changeable hawk-eagle or crested hawk-eagle is a bird of prey species of the family Accipitridae. It was formerly placed in the genus "Spizaetus", but studies pointed to the group being paraphyletic resulting in the Old World members being placed in "Nisaetus" and separated from the New World species.
