  1. Yes, you are right in that the white ones are the American Pekin Duck. Unfortunately this is not a true species which is why the species identification is not picking it up. These are one of many hybrids from the original Mallard. Nevertheless, nice to see them enjoying the water, they are normally bred for food! Posted 10 years ago

The mallard or wild duck is a dabbling duck that breeds throughout the temperate and subtropical Americas, Eurasia, and North Africa, and has been introduced to New Zealand, Australia, Peru, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, the Falkland Islands, and South Africa.
