Mearns coyote is a subspecies of coyote native to extreme southwestern Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, and California. It is a small subspecies, with medium-sized ears, a small skull, and small teeth. The fur is richly and brightly colored. The fulvous tints are exceedingly bright, covering the hind and forelegs.
