  1. So you have layered the last shot of the moon over the star trials to stop it from trailing across the image ? Posted 10 years ago
    1. Ant, yes but not traditionally layered it is merged by "image stack" PS. It was a series of no less than 100 images of the night sky before the moon was present (hence the glow behind the ridge line. Once the moon was in the right position I took several images at different positions and then picked the one I liked best to include in the stacked images of the stars. Once you run the stack algorithm the pixels become seamless. Hope that helps. I have a series of the moon at different positions that I was playing around with which I will include on this site but will remove it after a day or so as it is not one of my most appreciated shots.   2. Yes, this is allowed on the site. We'd consider it a wildlife landscape that happens to be at night. If you'd make a similar shot with a city landscape, it would be considered offtopic.
