  1. So, the outcome is also on the photo, H. Heurippa? I identified it as such, but feel free to correct it. Posted 10 years ago
    1. fchristant,

I changed the designation but it was removed again. How do I properly assign the species for this image?

      1. Identification is a community process, so it is indeed possible that other members change it, usually for good reasons. Anyway, if you think the current one is incorrect, which one do you think it should be? Note that the previous one you mentioned does not seem to have any record online, and therefore cannot be used. 2. Stephen, you requested "heurippa heliconius". Do you have a reference with info on that species. It's not even on eol.org, which usually is a sign of concern :) Posted 10 years ago
    1. fchristant,

this is where I found the data to support my request. http://www.world-science.net/othernews/060614_hybrid.htm

      1. Thank you, unfortunately that page has no actual info on the species itself. I need a description as well as taxonomy data in order to create a species. Posted 10 years ago

The postman butterfly, common postman, or simply postman is one of the heliconiine butterflies found from Mexico to northern South America. Several species in the genus have very similar markings and are difficult to distinguish. This is an example of mimicry.
