Aphid Hiding

While processing macros of a Pansy I spotted this aphid hiding deep inside the stigma. How incredible it was to capture this unknowingly and then to find it during post. Photography is always discovering new ways to present common images in a unique manner, planned or sometimes not.

  1. I don't think this is a pea aphid. They only feed on species of legumes. They are usually plain green, they don't have these black spots.

    1. I believe this is the corrected species. After looking for over 2 hours and knowing more about the 400 different types of aphids I have a greater appreciation for subtle variance. Here is the reference for my choice:
