  1. I had one of these guys who was my buddy for a while. She'd meet me at the back door when I got home from work to get her supper ration of peanuts and mealworms. She'd take them right from my hand even. For whatever reason though, the scrub jays moved on from this neighborhood. They came and went in just a few years. Now I see Stellar Jays around, whereas before it seemed they only came down from the mountains in the coldest part of winter. Posted 10 years ago

The California scrub jay is a species of scrub jay native to western North America. It ranges from southern British Columbia throughout California and western Nevada near Reno to west of the Sierra Nevada.
