Corn bunting at dawn
This photography shows a corn bunting (Least-concern by IUCN) at dawn in the summer. To make this shot I had to go to the small meadow, located at the edge of the forest in Bydgoszcz (central Poland), some time before sunrise. Few minutes after the red giant appeared in the sky I've noticed a corn bunting sitting in the group of herbaceous plants. I stood almost in one line including the bird and rising sun - which made orange glow in the picture.
This photography shows wild animal.
The corn bunting is a passerine bird in the bunting family Emberizidae, a group now separated by most modern authors from the finches, Fringillidae. This is a large bunting with heavily steaked buff-brown plumage. The sexes are similar but the male is slightly larger than the female. Its range extends from Western Europe and North Africa across to northwestern China.
