  1. First time I'm seeing this. We were in Tanzania 2 years ago and went to park famous for tree climbing lions, but never saw them. Posted 5 years ago
    1. yea our guide, who has been doin this for 8 years, was quite excited about seein it. he said it was pretty rare. he also mentioned that he heard of a pride somewhere that climbed trees regularly. Posted 5 years ago
      1. Yeah, it seems much lion behavior is learned, and doesn't come by instinct. I also saw a pride on TV that specialized in hunting via the water. Quite crazy for a cat. Posted 5 years ago

The lion is one of the five big cats in the genus ''Panthera'' and a member of the family Felidae. The commonly used term African lion collectively denotes the several subspecies found in Africa. With some males exceeding 250 kg in weight, it is the second-largest living cat after the tiger.
