  1. Tom, a great shot. I really like the "weaving" water. It adds another dimension to the photograph. You are absolutely on the track. Well done, and keep on taking photos ... . And keep on walking ... . Posted 7 years ago
    1. Thank you very much living wild! I admire you and your photos and your comment made me proud :) Posted 7 years ago
      1. Tom, you are the perfect candidate to make it big in this world of photography and conservation. I too have worked a lot with WWF in Namibia, and it is a great way to get into conservation, even if you decide not to make a career of it.

Thank you for the wonderful comment. I appreciate it very much. And you too ... you are the new generation. Photography is such a wonderful hobby. And to show the world the wonder of nature is an absolute gift. Keep on keeping on. Your friend, Andries Alberts.

The black-winged stilt is a widely distributed very long-legged wader in the avocet and stilt family. The scientific name "H. himantopus" was formerly applied to a single, almost cosmopolitan species. It is now normally applied to the form that is widespread in Eurosiberia and Africa and which was formerly regarded as the nominate subspecies of "Himantopus himantopus" "sensu lato".
