Yuk Eastern Bluebird hanging out on a dead Cholla Cactus limb in the high desert area of Sandia Park, NM around 6500 feet elevation. Many Western and Mountain Bluebirds in this area, but I don't see Eastern's very often. I guess he didn't like the food. The eastern bluebird is a small North American migratory thrush found in open woodlands, farmlands, and orchards. The bright-blue breeding plumage of the male, easily observed on a wire or open perch, makes this species a favorite of birders.
