The neck snakes out of the water... The body being buoyant below the water level and the slender neck combination earns this bird the name "the snake bird"... it is easy to see why! :) 2015,5D mkIII,Anhinga melanogaster,Geotagged,India,Jenifer Clark,John Rowell,Karnataka,Nagarhole National Park,Nagarhole Tiger Reserve,National Park,Oriental darter,Spring,Tiger Reserve, adhocphotographer, asia, copyright Click/tap to enlarge

The Oriental darter or Indian darter is a water bird of tropical South Asia and Southeast Asia. It has a long and slender neck with a straight, pointed bill and, like the cormorant, it hunts for fish while its body is submerged in water.
