  1. I am still not 100% sure if this is the right ID. It took me quite a long time trying to ID this small bird. After checking the list of all warblers spotted in Greece I do believe this is the correct one. Posted 10 years ago
    1. You know I am having a hard time identifying warblers too, but those on the references seem to be more yellow while this one is rather beige on the chest.

        In fact the photo on the Wiki page doesn't do justice to the species, but the description and a lot of other photos in the net make me think it could be the right one. I am still not convinced...

        1. It is kind of a gamble with these birds. Two species are compared here and the only difference is in the colour of their feet...

          1. Hi, I do believe this is a willow warbler. A melodious would have a somewhat browner back, heavier bill, longer tail. There's also stuff about the primary projection but I'm always a bit shaky on that... Posted 8 years ago

The melodious warbler is an Old World warbler in the tree warbler genus "Hippolais". It breeds in southwest Europe and northwest Africa. It is migratory, wintering in sub-Saharan Africa.
