Big black Carpenter Bee, Yala NP, Sri Lanka As we made a stop in Yala NP, I finally managed to capture this often-seen insect in Sri Lanka. It is very large, loud and flies slowly. It's an insect that will make you step aside as it flies near you. The species identification is an educated guess, a likely match but not a sure match.
